Domaine du Météore launches new rosé

Domaine du Météore Rosé
Domaine du Météore

Domaine du Météore takes its name from the 200-metre-wide meteorite crater which struck a hillside in southern France over ten thousand years ago. Situated in the village of Cabrerolles, at over 300 metres altitude in the foothills of the Haut-Languedoc mountains, vines grow within and around the crater. These are surrounded by garrigue with the evocative scents of wild thyme, fennel and citrus. Farmed organically for over 10 years, the vineyards are now in biodynamic conversion.

Unique terroir
The domaine uniquely benefits from the influence of two different types of rocky, schistose terroir in Faugères and Saint-Chinian (Roquebrun). Faugères is predominantly composed of blue schist, while Saint-Chinian is dominated by yellow schist. This allows the winemaking team to explore and compare the influence of both.

Distinctive wines

The meteoric wine producer has now launched a new organic, vegan rosé from its vineyard in the Languedoc. Owners, Dr Paul Jarman and Dr Paul Jenkins say: "We are delighted to be launching Le Météore Rosé in the UK. Our aim is to create wines that truly give a sense of terroir and Le Météore is no exception. The distinctive minerality found in the wines, due to the schist soil and high altitude, helped we believe by a little cosmic space dust from the meteorite, brings an elegance to Le Météore which we think consumers will love."

Domaine du Météore makes wines inspired by the land, its history and beyond. These are wines from another dimension!
