There's nothing old-fashioned about That Gin Company, even if they use a copper pot still to make small batches of their gin. In addition to a gin & cocktail bar at their Warwickshire-based distillery, they also have a cocktails tour bus. This allows them to host events and bring their bar to other locations around the country.
Guests at That Gin Company-hosted events have access to more than 100 uniquely made-to-order flavour infusions with something for every palate guaranteed. These vary from traditional juniper and floral gins through to fruity and spicy offerings. Their unconventional core range is based on retro flavours such as Bakewell Tart, Thai Sherbet and Pineapple Cube, as well as a classic London Dry, all of which are sure to put a smile on your face.
One of their creations that'll do more than make your lips spread wide is the Jalapeño Gin, a chilli-infused gin with a spicy kick!
Copper pot distilled, jalapeños are added into the neutral grain spirit at the start of distillation, along with juniper and other botanicals. Spring water is then used to cut the resultant distillate down from around 88% to 37.5% ABV.
Juniper and jalapeño on the nose lead on to a fiery palate where the chilli note takes centre stage. The spicy hit may be too overpowering for some, but it's an intriguing style that mixologists will have great fun with!
This gin goes really well with a good quality lemon or lime mixer, like Indi Organic Lemon Soda, with plenty of cooling ice!
For a lighter, dry and spicy highball, try with Dalston's Lemonade Soda and enjoy a refreshingly tangy citrus zing to add to the chilli bite!
Other cocktail suggestions include a spicy Gimlet, Martini, Southside (a gin-based variant of the Mojito) or a twist on a Bloody Mary, but this is definitely a gin that would suit an imaginative mind!
